Do you have a working internet connection? Plug the netbook directly to you connection to be sure. If you connect then follow these steps. If your connection is IP(internet provider)>>>>>>modem>>>>>>wireless router>>>>>>netbook. Shut down the netbook, shut off the power to the wireless router, and unhook the Ethernet cable from the router and modem. Connect the Ethernet cable between the modem the the wireless router. Power on the wireless router. These steps allow the modem to identify the wireless router and assign it an IP address. The wireless router must not be turned on until AFTER you connect the Ethernet cable.Did you properly set up the router? When first setting up the wireless use an Ethernet cable between the netbook and the router (any output will do) , launch your browser, and in the address bar type in 192.168.1.1/ or 192.168.2.1/ to access the set up page of your router. If you IP didn’t provide a modem the procedures are the same, just don’t power anything on until all the cables and connections are made. Good Luck. For additional help contact your Internet provider, they have connected just about everything.
Question: Does network admin. course and getting Cisco certificate land a good job in the US?
I’m planning on taking a network administration course (2 yrs.) in the Philippines from Meralco Foundation. Would this be good enough on getting a network admin. job in the US? My previous jobs had also been kinda related on this field btw. Any insights? Advice? Would be much appreciated! Thanks!

it will help, but chances are you might have to start out in a lower crappy position and work your way up. cisco guys are not in demand as much as say a web developer. now there’s a skill that’s in demand.

If You want to connect 2 PC or 2 laptops or PC to laptop all You need is crossover ethernet cable (RJ45).
Then You plug it into ethernet port in both devices.
You will have access then to shared folder on the both computers. If You want have access to other devices in the network then You need to plug new laptop to router / switch. Depends what You have.
If this network will be only for those 2 devices, this one cable connection will be enough. You can also make (in windows for example) new network, just click wizard in control panel.
