I ran all the steps, but set a password, in the Advanced Settings, under EDIT.
When I try to map the “network drive”, I asked a user name and password, but it appears that all the correct data are incorrect.
Also it says that I belong to the domain “Fafu-PC” (my computer).
I have to write the username in another way? What is the domain of the router? Why do I say that the data is incorrect?
So where is the video on UPnP connections, specifically for PS3. I am trying to connect my hard drive to the PS3 and it is not recognized through the usual windows media connection. Is there something else I have to do?
really helpful! THANKS!
How about access from a Mac?
@dswg1980 your internal hdd’s are almost always on when your pc is on which for many is all the time… as long as it has room to breath it shouldnt get to hot and for the most part ur golden. plus just get an external encloser and get a hdd with a 3-5 year warantee. it sucks to lose data but it does happen. Hard drives fail for all sorts of reasons.
Awesome video, very helpful! does this wear down your external since its plugged in and on constantly?
nice…i have a problem though..
i have multiple laptops at my house…they all are connected to the dual band router via wifi…after i connected my external hard drive with the router, i accessed the external hard drive with the steps you provided, then i skipped to the second laptop ..its running XP …i tried accessing the files by putting “\readyshare” a pop-up comes up asking me for a user name and password…what do i do??
thanks
