Question: Cisco certified entry-level network technician (CCENT) in senior year of highschool?
I am reading the CCENT/CCNA ICND1 official exam certification guide over this summer in hopes that when i take my Cisco networking & repair class this coming school year (senior year of highschool), i will just be able to walk in, take a pretest, and basically show them i already know the stuff so i can go ahead and take the ICND1 exam and hopefully pass, then get a job as an entry-level network technician or whatever, before I’m even out of highschool… what do you all think about this? Is this a serious goal i should strive for? any tips? help? advice? ect >_>
By the way, i’ve already read up to page 200 out of like 600.. its pretty cool because i actually understand most of the stuff, and i plan to reread the book a couple times anyway.
@Absurd Introspective: I looked up packet tracer, and it looks like an awesome program, but apparently cisco only lets people who have a special login download it, or whatever. I am not enrolled in any cisco classes atm, therefore i guess i cant get packet tracer? idk. when i first saw the words “packet tracer” i thought you were talking about a packet-sniffer, for that i use wireshark =D haha
and anyone that is familiar with the cisco certifications should answer my other question on here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ai.ya5Jmzy7au2wpUf9dGeHsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20110708055156AAXUCmz

The certification exam is pretty hard so if you can read the book and pass the exam I would be very impressed. The CCNA and even the CCNP is a very good thing to complete. Go as far as you can.
