CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Cost / Price?

Question: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Cost / Price?
I’m very interested in doing a CNNA course or a similar Microsoft Certified course before I go to university.

What is the total cost of doing a CCNA in the UK? I’ve heard that the exams are about £100 each and there are 5 of them…?

Also, do you have to be part of an academy / be taught the CCNA from a qualified person/body, or can you self study for it and take the exams as and when you are ready?

Any help is much appreciated!

Many thanks.

CCNA is the entry level certification for Cisco and you can self study and just take the test when you’re ready.
I think you can take it as one test or as two separate ones.
I believe it’s valid for 3 years, then you need to update it.
If you’re new to the computer / networking field, Cisco certs are probably not much use to you. The Microsoft ones may be better. Depends where your interests lie.

Has anybody taken the Cisco Certified Network Associate through the Open University?

Question: Has anybody taken the Cisco Certified Network Associate through the Open University?
Just wondering if anybody has taken the CCNA course to prepare them for the exam through the open university and if they’d advise taking the Comptia Network + before undertaking this course? Any advice would be greatfully appreciated! Many Thanks! Robyn

I work for a Computer Training school. I haven’t taken the CCNA course but I know about it and sell it.
It isn’t a prereq to take Network+ because the Intro to Cisco Networking Technologies class is very similar.
If you were planning on obtaining your ICND then yes, I would say either take the CCNA intro course or Network+.
You should be fine. Just make sure that you take your exam at an authorized Prometric/Vue testing center.
Good luck!
