Basically Computers A and B are on the same network sharing a router how do you access the files on computer B from computer A? In Windows xp?

just right click on the data you want to access, for instance your documents folder>right click>properties>sharing>then change the settings to share. Do the same on both computers, then to access the data from the other computer, go to the hard drive then documents then shared documents.

Yes. But even simpler would be to reset the router to it’s default settings. You can obtain the default username and password form the manufacturer’s documentation. Instructions for resetting can likely be found in those docs as well.
