Question: How Do You Change The NAT Type On A Linksys N Broadband Router Using Network Magic?
Pretty much the title. Right now the NAT type is at strict. Which disables me from doing a lot(!) on xbox live. I have a linksys n wireless broadband router. I use Network magic to do everything. Please help.

Your NAT type is determined by settings on the router, not your local machine.

If the xbox is the only device behind the router that needs open NAT ( most normal PC activity doesn’t) then you can just use the DMZ function on the router. Just log into the router, choose the DMZ option and insert the IP address of your x-box.

If you have multiple devices, it’s a little more tricky. You have to activate NAT triggering. That involves choosing the triggering options on the router and telling it the specific ports to trigger. If you need to do that: Here are the steps. If you have a relatively new router you may not need to do the download.

Login to the router admin at http://192.168.1.1
Click on “Administration”
Click on “Firmware Upgrade” and install the new firmware
Restart the router
Login to the router again and go to “Applications & Gaming”
Go to “Port Range Forward”
In your xbox360 go to the XBox dashboard > System > Network Settings > Edit Settings
Write down the IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.102)
Back to the router Port Range Forward admin page. You have the following columns – Application Start End Protocol IP Address Enable
Here are the settings in order which will take up 2 rows
xbox360 88 to 88 UDP 192.168.1.102 enable
xbox360 3074 to 83074 Both 192.168.1.102 enable
Save Settings
Restart the router and the XBox
Go to XBox dashboard > System > Network Settings > Test XBox LIVE Connection
