What exactly is the CCIP? What does it teach you? I know CCNP is the extension of CCNA but what exactly does CCIP cover?

CCIE is the mater certification called CISCO CERTIFIED INTERNETWORK EXPERT
is the second highest certification of cisco,If you done ccna {routing and switching} + ccnp{routing and switching} you will cover 60% of the whole ccie topic,every CCIE goes like ccna ccnp then CCIE sometimes they may not be ccna ccnp certified but they directly attend CCIE,CCIE will be conduct by cisco directly in CISCO banglore india,so after CCNP work in a company under the networking field then you take CCIE cisco recommend like that so whn you are ccie you will be highly qualified
CCIE{routing and switching} CCIE{Wireless} CCIE{VOICE} CCIE{SECURITY} are the streams of CCIE these streams also having base levels like ccna ccnp,but before going to the other streams you must be thorough with routingand switching stream because it’s the base of all,if your thorough only you will be able to contine on other
The CCIP certification is a professional certification covering the end-to-end protocols used in large scale networks
So if your going for CCIP i recommend try to take the expertlevel CCIE routing and switching
when you work in a company with ccie after 5 -8 yars expereince you can go for architect level that is CCA CISCO CERTIFIED ARCHITECT is the top level certificcation of CISCO

all 4 ccnp tests are required to SIT for the first written exam for CCIE. once the CCIE written is passed one can register for the CCIE Lab.
You must complete all four CCNP tests to register for the CCIE and the CCIE is unbelievably difficult.

These are two different careers in IT. One is a programming job, and the other is a networking job.

Application and Web Developer work obviously involves writing computer code in a variety of languages. Some people have a gift for that and others don’t. I have several very IT competent friends that tried to go into programming and found they had no fun with it or any aptitude for it. On the other hand my son is a developer and really enjoys it.

Networking is completely different than developer work. You would be involved in designing and maintaining a network infrastructure.

Right now the Networking and Development work both look good for the future. I would suggest you look at the networking side of things as this is more difficult to outsource. There is considerable outsourcing and offshoring in development work.

If these are your main 2 choices I would suggest you take some programming courses and see if you have any gifting in that realm.

associate is fewer courses. both are very hard to get. the prof. takes something like 8 hours to complete I hear. And it costs around 2500.00 to take.
