i am in the cisco netacad right know. stand is to have at least the comptia A+. then depends on what you want to do after that. ive been told if you have too many certs all over its looks bad. like you have no area of expertise. no one can master everything. where as if you have a few certs in the same area it looks like you know that one thing better than most. kinda like in Dr’s. there General then more specially Dr’s. if you need knee surgery who you gonna see. a General Dr or an orthopedic??

Yes, there are lots of jobs out there for us. Networking is a very untapped area, though I will admit that the number of people in it is growing.

Now, with that said, if you have the chance to go to school and get a degree in computer science or engineering, do it. You can always get certification after a degree, but not the other way around.

Question: Is there anyway to get past a cisco wireless network in school?
Whenever I connect to an open network in my school with my phone, psp or laptop, it always redirects me on the browser to a “Cisco” network..? It says log in…
My question is, is there anyway I can sign up for this network free?

Question: Is there a program to directly send a file from one computer to another via network router? ?
I want to send this 2gig file to another computer on the same network. Please tell me what program can be used to send the file. My router is a Belkin N Router, its pretty fast for sending file wired or wireless.

I’m assuming you’re using microsoft windows XP… you can “share” a folder, then use the other computer to map to it (go to My Computer, then click on tools|Map network drive, then type in \[COMPUTER NAME HERE]\[FOLDER NAME HERE]) then see if ti works…i can’t go into much detail cos i just can’t and i’m running windows vista

As with all IT jobs CCNA is not enough you also need some experience try some part-time volunteer work with a company. or a local school
